Overview

The AVP of QCU is responsible for providing risk analysis and assessments for the department on all risk categories including liquidity, market, credit, operational, compliance, reputational and strategic, and monitoring of the department’s key risk indicators.    

Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Quality Control Unit Function

  • Assist the VP with the management of the daily operations of the QCU function
  • Identify, assess, monitor and report on the operating risk, liquidity risk, interest risk, and other issues for the department. Escalate risk issues to 2nd line of defenses as necessary.
  • Support organizational compliance with risk policies through regular risk exposure monitoring and reporting.
  • Perform analysis to assess the appropriateness of the risk limits.
  • Prepare and consolidate data from all relevant branches for preparation of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Escalate any risk concerns and breaches of risk metrics to supervisor.
  • Set up various risks types parameters, perform self-risks assessment, monitoring and reporting.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure staff adherence to the bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Review risk management performance and provide input to annual performance evaluation.
  • Act as the first level reviewer in making initial investigation decisions on Legal/compliance cases as well as determining the specific information needed to manage the investigation.
  • Review and revise existing process and procedures ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Review the departmental processes and procedures and identify process improvement opportunities and internal controls.
  • Serve as the subject matter on departmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and assist Legal & Compliance team in fraud situations by gathering information, writing reports, filing cases with law enforcement, assisting with claims and maintaining files.

New Product Assessment

  • Advise on new product development initiatives.
  • Conduct and perform risk assessment, marketing, approval and risk monitoring on potential new products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related areas is required; Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in banking or financial industry is required, ideally with experience in credit portfolio management covering industries such as energy, technology, material, aviation, and real estate for VP level
  • Excellent analytical skill, especially in fundamental credit analysis, both quantitative and qualitative

  • Proficient in financial modeling

  • Extensive hands on experience in credit portfolio management

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial loan products, debt capital market

  • Strong ability to understand complex deal structure, pricing strategy, and capital and liquidity constraints

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin

Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.

USD $65,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
