Overview

This position will perform as a key role in day-to-day benefits and FMLA operations. Responsible for all insurance invoices. Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating benefits database on the bank’s HRIS platform to ensure accuracy and consistency, facilitating payroll administrations as a backup, coordinating with the bank’s employee wellness programs, morale programs and other ad hoc projects assigned by the management team.

Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

  • Collaborate with brokers in the annual review of benefits program and update when necessary. Review and recommend to Executive Management of benefit plan changes
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D, 401(k) plan, wellness benefits, D&O, EPLI and BPL, BOLI plan and WC including but not limited to eligibility tracking, form distribution, enrollment, change, termination, claim processing
  • Assist with annual renewal for benefit plans including plan design, vendor due diligence, quote negotiation and management approval
  • Assist with third party vendor management including annual review, financial statement review, risk assessment, due diligence, SOC report review
  • Conduct benefits orientations (e.g. new hire, expels and open enrollment) and training webinars
  • Coordinate with open enrollment process and enroll/change participants in relevant plans
  • Coordinate with employee on Qualifying life events and inform Payroll processor of the related deduction changes.
  • Serve as employees’ advocate and internal customer service provider and respond in a timely manner to employee inquiries about benefits, FMLA and all other B&C related questions via shared HR email box, perform follow-ups as needed.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims and inquiries
  • Review and validate calculations of the monthly premium statements, conduct internal cost reconciliation and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Administer the COBRA including but not limited to terminate coverage, issue COBRA package, COBRA enrollment and payment processing.
  • Keep track of current benefits and human resources related topics and all Federal and State laws and regulations such as ACA, COBRA, FMLA, PFL, ERISA, and HIPAA
  • Update benefits policies and procedure as needed
  • Participate in special projects and/or other duties as assigned

 

Payroll Administration

  • Review and record HR/Payroll/Benefits data into HRIS system, including new hire and termination and all the changes in between.
  • Data entry also including HR/Payroll/Benefits retroactive calculation and adjustments.
  • Ensure payroll processing is timely and accurately accordance with government regulations and company’s policy
  • Process employment verification requests
  • Resolve daily operational issues that arise with urgency

 

Others/ Special Projects

  • Train new collogues (full time & Intern) as needed.
  • Participate in Employees’ Guide, Supplement review. Create New Policies and procedures.
  • Provide report and data assistance for employees’ birthday program, New Year red envelops, etc. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or other related fields is required
  • Knowledge and/or experience in human resources, benefits administration preferred
  • Detail oriented attitude and the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skill, and customer service skills are required
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information is required
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
  • Experience in project management is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the CA, NY and IL employment laws and regulations preferred
  • Industry knowledge of benefits administration process and procedures preferred
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Chinese is highly preferred

Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.

USD $42,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
