Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the Team Lead of QA and the Internal Audit management team broadly in coordinating all aspects of development and delivery of operations for internal audit.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

Drive the audit program enhancements to achieve a “Strong” internal audit function and to meet the enhanced prudential standards of the Federal Reserve

  • Draft for approval the Internal Audit communication program for Internal Audit, BOC leaders and Head Office Internal Audit Department and ensure its execution
  • Establish and enhance internal audit standards
  • Enhance the Audit Manual
  • Guide process improvements across internal audit
  • Prompt review of the audit risk assessment; consolidate and rationalize updates
  • Review the audit plan, consolidate updates, and track progress

Enhance quality assurance

  • Align innovation strategy with bank’s goal
  • Develop the Quality Assurance Improvement Program (“QAIP”) plan
  • Execute the QAIP, including coordination with other department resources, when needed
  • Execute full QA review, report results to Auditors-in-Charge, and follow through the action plans
  • Prioritize and implement audit process improvements in consultation with the Head of Internal Audit
  • Coordinate and communicate with regulators and external auditors

Regulatory examination and external review coordination

  • Collaborate internally and respond to requests from regulators and external auditors
  • Prepare presentation deck to facilitate meetings
  • Establish a dedicate communication channel with regulators and external auditors

Build expert knowledge

  • Deliver professional trainings to auditors
  • Develop training material on audit standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the relevant Audit (e.g. IT, Operation and Risk or Compliance)
  • Participate the annual training plan and budget to bridge the gaps in auditor’s skill set
  • Monitor and coordinate internal training delivery
  • Record and report on progress to training plan

Communicate and report on audit progress

  • Prepare the quarterly USRMC report
  • Prepare consolidated and targeted reports on audit issues and validation status to the US management committees and to Head Office Internal Audit Department
  • Prepare audit operations reports: resource usage, progress to audit plan, budget conformance, among others, for internal audit and Head Office Internal Audit Department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
  • 7+ years of work experience in Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit is required.
  • 7+ years of work experience in Audit Quality Assurance and Audit Practice is required.
  • Extensive exposure to IT audit or IT industry is required
  • Cybersecurity, information security, database management, or project development
  • Significant familiarity to audit professional practices, risk and control standards, policies and US banking regulations
  • Capability and willingness to develop staff, including new hires, on audit standards
  • Experience in project management and end-to-end process improvement type of work
  • Strong planning, coordination and project management capabilities for a risk, control, technology or audit banking function
  • Understands multiple disciplines associated with banking activities.
  • Proven process manager with an established track record of overseeing and executing multiple deliverables
  • Confidence and presence to apply indirect influence to attain department goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management
  • Experience in developing and maintaining reporting, reporting metrics, and dashboards for executive management and/or committees
  • CPA, CIA or equivalent is plus. For Compliance, CAMS is plus.
  • Big 4 Accounting Firm experience is a plus

Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.

USD $110,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /Yr.
